If you are in the Sedona area and want to see something unique and off the beaten path, you might try visiting Eliphante Village. This three acre sculptural art installation is located in Cornville, about 20 miles south of Sedona. There are several artistic structures, which are made out of mainly ‘found materials’. It is an inspirational work of art that is well worth seeing!

When in Sedona, it is hard to resist hiking among the red rocks. There are many trails to explore. However, if you are new to the area some trailheads can be difficult to locate and it may be hard to tell how difficult of a hike you are about to start.

In West Sedona, by Coffee Pot Rock are a couple of favorite trails. The Sugarloaf Loop travels around Sugarloaf, which is the small formation in front of Coffee Pot Rock. It has nice views and is fairly level. The hike is a little over 2 miles. This trail is popular, but not as crowded as the Bell Rock area.

The National Day of the Cowboy will be celebrated on Friday, July 22nd and Saturday, July 23rd in Sedona’s Main Street District along SR 89A and SR 179. This event is organized by the Sedona Main Street Program and the Red Rock Posse to celebrate the character and values of the Cowboy. These cowboy values include honesty, stamina, integrity, courage, compassion, respect, patriotism and a strong work ethic. During this event there will be a lot of good old-fashioned family fun and western-themed activities.

Up, Up and Away

Have you ever wanted to take a ride in a hot air balloon? The owners of Sedona Olde Time Photos recently went on a ride with Red Rock Balloons and it was wonderful. The ride started with a van ride to the launch site. Then a well-organized crew proceeded to pull the basket out of the trailer and attach the balloon. Then they stretched the balloon out and filled it with air. This happened fairly quickly and the process was interesting to watch.
